OTG & Reselling in the Philippine Market

During a Zoom Call on February 20, 2019, YL Distributor Conduct Success Advocate Dewie Elma clarified some questions about reselling in the OTG market.

Q: My friend doesn't want to buy the PSK. She just wants to try YL oils. Can she buy at the YLPH Experience Center?*
A: Since the Philippines is an OTG market, you can resell YL products at suggested retail prices. However, in the Philippines, we do not have a retail license, so the YLPH Experience Center cannot facilitate your reselling activities, so, you have to do it on your own. That means you keep your own inventory and a roster of your regular customers' contact details. It's also your responsibility to educate them and let them know about promos.*

Q: Where can I resell Young Living products?*
A: At heart, Young Living is a direct selling business, i.e., products are to be shared in a person to person manner.

Direct selling means you buy directly from a member, and the member is obligated to train you and tell you things about the product. And the member gets a commission because of that effort.

Offer the products at retail prices to non-members in private events or functions.*

Q: I want to tie up with a friend who owns several salons and sell YL products through those locations. Is that allowed?*
A:  A salon/spa and other establishments such as these are considered retail. As I mentioned before, Young Living Philippines does not have a retail license.

Moreover, we want everyone to have the same level playing field. We don't want somebody, just because she owns a series or branches of a store, to have an undue advantage over someone who's a homemaker who does Young Living on the side.*

*Both questions and answers have been edited for brevity and clarity.
