YL Lavender Grown From Seeds
In the May-Aug 2019 edition of Salt Magazine, it was confirmed that unlike other farms, Young Living grows its lavender from seeds instead of cuttings. Gary has discovered that lavender grown from seeds produces a much higher therapeutic grade oil.
In Young Living's Simiane-la-Rotonde Farm and Distillery in France, farmers source the seeds by letting rows of lavender flowers reach full maturation. The seeds are harvested from these flowers and then planted in a nursery.
From summer till next spring, the seeds are nurtured in the nursery before being transferred to the actual farm. And then, three years will pass before the lavender will be ready for its own flowers to be distilled for oil.
