2019 Day of Valor

As we celebrate Araw ng Kagitingan or the Day of Valor, let it be remembered that historical records show that one in ten guerrillas who served during World War II was a Filipina.

Some were at the forefront, fighting alongside the men in both guerrilla and Huk battalions, while others traversed dangerous trails as messengers or gleaned information from the enemies as spies. Filipinas were also invaluable as medical aides, nursing Filipinos, Americans and Japanese prisoners of war (POWs) back to health.
